Websites that you may want to use for genealogical research are listed below.

https://familysearch.org/ has placed new indexes to and digital images of the 1885 and 1895 Iowa Censuses on its website.  Browse by location, then Place – Iowa to find them. 

http://digital.lib.uiowa.edu/hixson/index.php has digital versions of 95 Iowa plat map atlases from 1930.

www.usgwtombstones.org/  lists which states are participating in the Tombstone Transcription Project, part of the US GenWeb.

http://nebraskahistory.org/databases/index.shtml is the Nebraska State Historical Society and may help with research on people who lived in Nebraska.

http://nebnewspapers.unl.edu/  is a small collection of historic Nebraska newspapers put online by the University of Nebraska.  The collection spans 1878-1912 and includes newspapers from Omaha.  Access is free.

http://www.library.illinois.edu/hpnl/newspapers/historical.php takes you to the University of Illinois’ site with a large collection of agricultural newspapers primarily published from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s, called the Farm, Field and Fireside Collection.  Scroll down to the Major Digital Newspaper Collections to find the collection and click to enter.  The Collection is searchable by keyword, such as name.
