LAYED TO REST
Rodney Allen Ott, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Ott of Hutchinson, Kan. was layed to rest in the Walnut Cemetery yesterday afternoon (Sat. Aug. 28).
Funeral services were held in the Mrs. Dora Ott residence at 2 P.M., Rev. C. E. Gabler officiating.
Surviving Rodney Allen who mourn his early death are his dear parents; two sisters Alice and Karen; his grandmother Mrs. Dora Ott; his uncle Harold Ott of Denver, Colo.; other relatives and friends of the family.
May the comforting spirit of the loving Master accompany those who have been led through the dark vale of sorrow and guide them upon their future pathway.
Memorial Service
For
Pvt. John C. Sharp
The American Legion, Walnut Post No. 422, will conduct memorial services for Pvt. John Calvin Sharp at the Walnut High School Auditorium this (Sun.) afternoon at 2:30 P.M.
Pvt. Sharp lost his life on Sunday August 8, 1943 by drowning in the Colorado River near Needles, Cal. where he was in training. Full military honors were accorded him in his burial on Monday, Aug. 16.
The memorial services are open to the public and will begin at 2:30 P.M. There will be no admittance to the service after 2:30.
Members of the local order of the Masonic Lodge will attend in a body. Local citizens are invited to pay their tribute by attending this service.
WALNUT SCHOOLS TO OPEN
Scholastic activities will be resumed at the Walnut Public School tomorrow morning. (Monday, Aug. 30).

LOCAL STORES COMBINE
The Koehrsen Clover Farm Store and the Hoffmann Hardware Store have combined their stock and now continue to serve the community under the name of Hoffmann and Koehrsen Hardware and Groceries.
Both firms which have in the past conducted business in a way which is complimentary to a community assure their customers the same high quality service and merchandise in the future.
