OUR RESOURCES ARE AT YOUR SERVICE
We are privileged to have in our Genealogy Room many resources available for public use. There is a microfilm/fiche reader which also prints copies, two computers with high-speed internet access (hooked up to their own printer), and access to a photocopier in the library.
Our Record Collection continues to grow. We have begun, and are always adding to:
*an extensive Obituary File
*an index of births, deaths and marriages
*a collection of old Walnut phone books
*plat maps of Layton Township and the surrounding townships
*a collection of census records for Iowa and Western Iowa on microfilm from 1847—1920
*church histories and directories from churches in Walnut, Avoca and Atlantic
*updated cemetery indexes for Layton, Lincoln and Monroe townships
